Electrification of processes, heat recovery and better use of surplus energy.
Enova funding can be a crucial source of financing for businesses that want to cut emissions, use energy more intelligently or adopt new climate and energy technology. This applies both to companies that develop solutions for the market and to businesses that will implement specific energy and climate measures in their own operations. Enova itself describes its business portfolio as targeted support for the transition to a low-emission society, with an emphasis on emission reductions, technology development, innovation and new values.
This is also where many people go wrong. Enova is not a general support scheme for everything that is green. To be successful in obtaining an Enova grant, the project must fit into a specific program, have a clear energy or climate effect and be mature enough to be implemented. For technology and innovation projects, TRL (Technology Readiness Level) and CRI are used to assess maturity and commercialization.
Aider helps customers throughout the entire process: from early qualification and choosing the right program, to applying for Enova support, project structure, reporting and implementation. We have experience in assessing whether a project is actually suitable for Enova, in preparing applications and in following up projects after approval.
Enova can be relevant for companies that develop technology, systems or infrastructure that can reduce emissions or make the energy system more efficient. For this group, Enova support is often relevant when the project is about demonstrating, piloting or realizing a solution in the market. This is particularly relevant when the project not only describes the technology, but also demonstrates a concrete effect and a credible path to commercialization.
Typical examples include charging infrastructure, industrial electrification or maritime technology based on hydrogen. Enova's support programs are aimed precisely at such areas within energy systems, industry, land transport and maritime transport.
Many companies choose to apply for Enova support to invest in specific energy and climate measures in their own operations. These may be industrial companies that are phasing out fossil fuels, or real estate companies that are implementing energy improvements in buildings. For this group, it is crucial to document the measure, the cost basis and the expected climate effect in order to qualify for an Enova grant.
Aider can help throughout the Enova process, not just in the actual application phase. The first question is not how the application should be written, but whether the project actually meets the requirements for Enova support. We help clarify whether the project is mature enough, which program is most relevant, and how the project should be rigged.
Once the project is qualified, we help build the application. This involves structuring the project around the scheme's requirements, documenting the system effect and designing a credible basis for decision-making. For companies developing solutions, this is often the difference between a pure technology description and an actual eligible project.
We also assist in the implementation phase. Enova requires project accounts, and payment of Enova grants takes place after approved reporting. Did you know that the last 20 percent of the grant is only paid when the final report is approved? Aider ensures that the documentation is correct all the way.
Industry
Electrification of processes, heat recovery and better use of surplus energy.
Land transportation
Heavy transport and charging infrastructure. Here the goal is to contribute to lasting market changes.
Sea transport
Investments in vessels and infrastructure that use new energy carriers such as batteries or hydrogen.
Construction and real estate
Energy management, flexibility and circular measures in the construction industry.
The energy system
Projects that strengthen the grid through flexibility and load management. Among other things, Aider has assisted a customer in securing an Enova grant of as much as NOK 40 million for systems that utilize existing grid capacity.
Many people underestimate how important project design is for getting Enova support approved. Good projects often fail because they are placed in the wrong program or are too poorly documented. Aider combines an understanding of technology, finance and project implementation. We work with qualification, applications and realization - not just with text production.
Yes. Enova is relevant in both cases, but the project logic is different. For solution companies, it's often about pilots and demonstrations, while for others it's about pure investment projects.
