The Bergen based accounting and audit firm Acceptor is merging with Aider, one of Norways fastest growing competence houses. Through the acquisition, Aider gains 20 experienced employees and valuable expertise within accounting, auditing and financial advisory.
– Our goal is to continue developing in Western Norway, and it is easier to succeed as part of a larger group. Together with Aider, we gain more strength and more opportunities, say the founders Roar Lien, Sturle Johnsen, Kim Thunes and Bjørn Erik Refsnes at Acceptor.
Since its establishment in 2007, Acceptor has been a comprehensive provider of accounting, auditing and advisory services. In 2012, the accounting and auditing operations were separated into two companies, but the philosophy has always remained the same: one point of contact, a broad service range and high quality.
– We believe in combining different disciplines to deliver better solutions to our clients. As part of Aider, we can continue to develop this model, with even more strength behind us, say the founders.
After several years of organic growth, Acceptor, like many other actors in the industry, is experiencing that new regulations and requirements for compliance, HR and IT make it challenging to continue growing independently.
We have been too large to be small, and too small to be large. Now we will gain access to Aiders robust support systems and can spend more time on what we are passionate about, delivering value to our clients, says the team at Acceptor.
All employees at Acceptor will continue, including the audit staff. Although Aider does not plan to offer auditing as a service, they see significant value in integrating auditing expertise into their professional environment.
– Acceptor brings a unique combination of senior profiles with backgrounds from the big four and a strong service culture. They understand that accounting is a service profession, which aligns perfectly with our perspective, says Elisabeth Eide, Regional Manager for Aider Vest.
The two offices in Bergen will merge later this year. The collaboration will not only provide clients with access to a broader range of services, it will also open up more development opportunities for both current and new employees.
– This gives us new energy. We look forward to new colleagues, new challenges and greater momentum in our development. Together with Aider, we can continue to grow and offer better services, say the founders of Acceptor.
Eide adds:
– Aider aims to be the first choice for both the business community and skilled professionals in Bergen. We are already more than 150 employees in the region, but the growth continues, and Acceptor will be a key piece of the journey ahead.
