Aider acquires the outsourcing division of the Polish tax advisory firm MDDP, comprising more than 300 employees. “This marks a new milestone in our international expansion and enables us to serve an entirely new client segment,” says Aider CEO, Andreas Vik.
It has only been a few weeks since Aider announced its launch in neighbouring Denmark. A more conventional next step might have been a gradual expansion into the remaining Nordic countries, but Aider is not a conventional company.
“When this opportunity arose, we immediately went all in. We had to move quickly, and now Aider has established a substantial presence in Poland, which is a rapidly growing market,” Vik explains.
MDDP Outsourcing is home to one of Poland’s largest accounting environments and is led by three highly influential partners, all with Big Four experience. The outsourcing division has more than 300 employees and an annual turnover of nearly NOK 200 million, with very strong profitability.
Approximately 70 percent of MDDP Outsourcing’s client base consists of non-Polish companies operating in Poland – a segment that Vik now identifies as a strategic focus area.
The team at MDDP Outsourcing possesses significant expertise in the unique challenges faced by companies operating across borders. We will now be able to bring more of that competence into Aider. Whether it is Norwegian clients with international ambitions or international clients looking to establish themselves in Norway, we will be able to support them even better going forward, he says.
The Polish company has offices in Warsaw and Katowice and delivers services within accounting, payroll, and advisory. Like Aider, they also have an in-house IT department.
Adding more skilled tech professionals to the team is an important advantage, and MDDP Outsourcing has developed several smart in-house solutions that our clients can benefit from. At the same time, I believe our own organisation has a great deal to bring to the table technologically. We are far ahead here in the Nordics, and there is enormous potential in exporting our ERP systems and solutions to this market.
MDDP Outsourcing will undergo a full rebranding, and Aider Chairman, Knut Grotli, explains that the two companies quickly aligned around Aider’s core values.
“They have a similar profile, similar mindset, and define themselves as a competence house. We will now continue our growth by offering our increasingly broad range of services to both Norwegian and international clients,” Grotli says, concluding:
“And then we will see where the journey takes us next. We are always ready to seize the opportunities that arise.”
