Aider Expands in Grenland: Sipak Regnskap og Økonomi Joins the team

Sipak Regnskap og Økonomi AS is becoming part of Aider. The 45-year-old accounting firm from Skien brings six employees, extensive experience, and a diverse client portfolio.“With this, we strengthen our position as the leading player in Grenland,” says Partner and Regional Co-Director at Aider, Erik Torp Johannesen.

Since the early 1980s, the accounting firm Sipak has delivered solid financial services from its offices at Kjørbekk in Skien. As part of Aider, they now look forward to taking on more large clients—and an even broader range of assignments.

“Large clients are professionally exciting, but there is always a certain level of risk when you are a small firm. Now we will be able to handle this in a completely different way, with greater security and a broader service offering,” says namesake Erik Johannesen, Managing Director of Sipak Regnskap og Økonomi.

Strengthening the Core Philosophy

The Skien-based company was originally founded in connection with the development of Siemens’ accounting system—and software remains part of Sipak’s DNA. The plan is now to further develop this together with Aider’s tech environment.

“We have always wanted to stay at the forefront of technology, and now we gain a completely different level of innovation power behind us. Aider is among those leading the development in our industry, and I look forward to getting to know both the people and the solutions better,” he says, adding:

“Our core philosophy has always been about how we can use technology to create added value for our clients. That philosophy will now have even better conditions to thrive.”

Positioned for growth

Sipak was not only an early mover in systems and technology: As early as 40 years ago, the company developed its own quality assurance system, and since then they have worked systematically with quality management. This is reflected in their deliveries, according to Aider’s Torp Johannesen.

“In the accounting industry, it is easy to recognize good craftsmanship. For those of us who have followed Sipak for some time, it has been clear that they deliver high quality. And when there are such talented people in a region where we want to grow, we naturally take interest. That is why we are incredibly pleased that they now want to join our team.”

Aider is now approaching 120 employees in Grenland, and with the acquisition of Sipak, the company is better positioned for growth than ever before.

“We have assembled an incredibly strong team, and the plan is to continue growing by being a preferred partner for the regional business community,” says Torp Johannesen, concluding:

“We are not aiming to be the biggest just for the sake of being the biggest—but to be the best.”
