A strong focus on technology and AI

In recent years, the accounting and advisory firm Aider has experienced rapid growth and established itself as one of the most forward leaning players in the industry. The company is now further strengthening its leadership team by appointing Runar Vestrheim as its new CTO. He assumed the role this week and will be part of Aider’s executive leadership team.

Our ambition is to redefine how technology and AI are utilized within the accounting and advisory industry. We are also expanding significantly on an international level. Runar brings the expertise, leadership experience, and execution capability we need to take the next step, says Andreas Vik, Founder and CEO of Aider.

Vestrheim will lead Aider’s overall technology initiative, which currently includes approximately 130 employees. This initiative will be further strengthened in the years ahead, both through organic growth and additional acquisitions, in Norway and internationally.

Sterk oppkjøpsvekst krever tung teknologisatsing

Aider has pursued a highly active acquisition strategy, completing 35 acquisitions in 2025 alone. In total, the company has completed 96 acquisitions since its establishment in 2019. Technology and scalable platforms are a central part of Aider’s growth strategy, making the CTO role a key position in the company’s continued development.

New technology and artificial intelligence represent significant opportunities. The most successful companies turn this into a competitive advantage. What truly attracted me to Aider is the company’s willingness to invest heavily in technology that creates real value for both clients and employees, says Runar Vestrheim.

Vestrheim brings extensive experience in technology and product development, scaling technology organizations, and strategic leadership from companies such as Accenture, Cegal, and Antire.

At Aider, he will be responsible for further developing and scaling the company’s technology environments, driving growth across international markets, and ensuring that technology supports both efficient operations and new service models.

- I am joining an organization experiencing strong growth, with highly competent environments that put people first. I look forward to further developing the technology platform together with skilled colleagues across the organization, says Vestrheim.

Technology as a growth engine

Aider has, in a short period of time, established itself as a leader in the Norwegian market, with a clear ambition to build the accounting and advisory firm of the future. However, achieving a leading position is not something the company intends to become complacent about. With a rapidly growing client portfolio and a large number of integrated businesses, technology is a critical factor for continued scaling.

Technology is central to Aider’s strategy, both in helping our clients succeed and in providing our employees with the best tools for their daily work. With Runar on board, we gain a CTO who combines strategic perspective with strong execution capabilities, and who will be an important contributor to the leadership team, concludes Vik.
