Fokus Regnskap joins Aider

Mann og dame har en samtale i en sofa

Aider acquires the West Norway-based accounting firm Fokus Regnskap, establishing its first office in Fosnavåg. The acquisition is a key part of Aiders growth strategy in Møre og Romsdal and strengthens the groups position in accounting services for the fisheries and aquaculture sector. – Joining Aider gives us greater resources, more opportunities and better conditions to attract and retain talent in a rapidly changing industry, says Stig Vestnes, Managing Director of Fokus Regnskap.

Fokus Regnskap has been a strong player in the region for several decades. The company has 11 permanent employees and a diverse client portfolio, including fisheries and the SME market. Vestnes, who has been with the firm for nearly 40 years, sees significant advantages in the merger.

– We become a more attractive and exciting workplace. With Aider behind us, we can invest more heavily in technology, professional development and client customisation, he says.

Addressing new industry requirements and changing client needs

The accounting and advisory sector is undergoing both digital and regulatory transformation. Fokus Regnskap has in recent years invested in systems such as PowerOffice Go and strengthened quality assurance and documentation, but also recognises the limitations of being a smaller office.

– We clearly see that it is increasingly difficult to keep up with new requirements for AML, quality management and technology on our own. That is why we are pleased to become part of Aider – it gives us the strength to meet the future, says Vestnes.

Growing demand for outsourcing and specialised services

Both Fokus Regnskap and Aider are seeing increasing demand for outsourced accounting services, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises. With Aiders network and resources, the Fosnavåg office will be able to offer an even broader range of services to both existing and new clients.

– By collaborating closely with our offices in Bergen and Askvoll, we can combine local proximity with national capacity and expertise. This benefits our clients, says Vestnes.

Aider strengthens its position in the fisheries sector

Elisabeth Eide, Regional Director for Aider West, is very pleased with the acquisition, both in terms of expertise and location.

– Fosnavåg has an active and innovative business community, and Fokus Regnskap has strong expertise in fisheries and aquaculture, which is a strategic focus area for us, she says.

She also highlights that the company has already demonstrated strong operations, professional engagement and efficient internal processes.

– We look for more than just solid accounting figures. Stig is, among other things, active in Regnskap Norge, and his team has much to contribute across our regions.

Ready for growth and development in Fosnavåg and surrounding areas

With Aider on board, Fokus Regnskap gains access to a larger professional environment, technological tools and development opportunities. The next steps include:

• Strengthening recruitment efforts in the region
• Continuing focus on fisheries, aquaculture and SME clients
• Expanding the service offering to include advisory services in HR, sustainability and technology
• Bridging local knowledge with national capacity

– This marks the beginning of a new phase for both us and Aider. We will now learn from each other and develop a strong professional environment in Fosnavåg. I look forward to the journey ahead, says Eide.
