For Aider, digital security is about more than technology – it’s about people.
National Cyber Security Month is an important reminder of how vulnerable we can be in a digital working environment, and we use this occasion to enhance knowledge and prevent digital threats among employees and customers.

Three key areas within cyber security

1. Phishing: Avoid being deceived

Phishing attacks are a common form of cybercrime where fraudsters attempt to gain access to sensitive information by pretending to be a trusted sender – such as banks, public authorities, or colleagues.

Typical warning signs:

  • Unexpected emails or SMS messages containing links or attachments

  • Messages that create urgency or pressure

  • Requests for sensitive information

Tips to prevent phishing:

  • Always verify the sender before clicking on any links

  • Never share personal information without a security check

  • Think twice before downloading anything

2. Passwords: Your first line of defence

Strong passwords are one of the most important measures you can take to protect yourself against cyberattacks and unauthorised access.

Good password practices:

  • Use unique passwords for each account

  • Store passwords securely – preferably in an encrypted password manager

  • Change passwords regularly, especially for critical services such as email and banking

  • Avoid simple or easily guessable combinations

3. Protection against malicious software

Ransomware, trojans and viruses can cause significant damage – both for businesses and private individuals.

How to protect yourself against malicious software:

  • Keep software and operating systems up to date

  • Do not download files or apps from unknown sources

  • Use an up-to-date antivirus program and firewall

  • Back up important files regularly

Digital security starts with knowledge

Aider works every day to create safer digital environments – both internally and for our customers. We believe that effective cyber security is about making the complex understandable, and that awareness and competence are the best forms of defence.
