May-Lis and Remi Hallvig run a restaurant at the tip of Tjøme. To focus on what they love, they needed more than just an accountant.
With panoramic views of the Oslofjord and fresh seafood on the menu, Verdens Ende Spiseriet has become a destination in its own right. Success in the restaurant industry requires more than quality ingredients and a view—it requires control.
“You’re more into action, while I’m the organized one. Remi is like Speedy Gonzales—he has a hand in just about everything,” says May-Lis Hallvig with a laugh.
Together with her husband Remi, she runs Verdens Ende Spiseriet, located at the very tip of Tjøme. It’s a year-round restaurant accommodating everything from young families on a Sunday outing to conference guests who want to combine business with a view of the open sea.
“The best part of being a restaurant manager is that no two days are the same. I have an amazing team supporting me, both in the kitchen and front of house,” says May-Lis.

At Verdens Ende Spiseriet, nothing is left to chance—whether it comes to sourcing local ingredients or delivering impeccable service. Every detail is carefully curated to ensure guests enjoy both quality food and a memorable dining experience.
Since opening in 2015, the goal has been clear: to build a restaurant for the future.
“May-Lis is the heart of it all. She remembers guests who visited two years ago, which table they sat at, and what they ate,” says Remi.
He is responsible for day-to-day operations—a role that requires managing seasonal fluctuations, overseeing the systems that keep the restaurant running, and developing new concepts
“To achieve our future goals, we rely on a strong partnership with Aider, and on Tripletex functioning effectively for us – just as it does today,” he says.
