Although both enjoy practicing the accounting profession, Solvi and Bydal are looking forward to the opportunity to take a broader strategic perspective. The two founders will now play key roles in developing Aider’s initiative targeting small businesses.
Fryd Regnskap becomes part of Aider: SMEs are a key customer segment for us
The competence house Aider acquires Fryd Regnskap. Together, they aim to become the preferred accounting provider for small businesses. With Aider backing us, our concept will have even stronger growth conditions, says Eirik Solvi, Founder and CEO of Fryd Regnskap.
From startup to two offices: how Fryd Regnskap scaled in three years
Together with co founder Simen Bydal, Solvi has grown Fryd Regnskap from two to six employees over the past three years, and today the company operates offices in both Porsgrunn and Oslo. Their success formula has been to deliver accounting services through more standardized processes.
-Small businesses seek clarity and predictability. Our concept is to help them structure their accounting processes in a way that ensures the most cost efficient service possible, Solvi explains.
Expanded service offering
The concept has proven to resonate well in the market, partly supported by Solvi’s presence on TikTok, where he operates under the name “The Accountant” and has built a following of more than 35,000. However, the two founders were aiming for even faster growth.
– We strongly believe in this concept, and the time had come to take it to the next level. As part of Aider, we can stay ahead to a greater extent, while also gaining access to a broader pool of highly skilled resources. For our clients, who prefer to focus on their core business, it is a clear advantage that we can now deliver across an even wider range of services, he says.
Co founder Bydal reveals that they have been in dialogue with several potential buyers, but ultimately selected Aider as the clear best match.
– Aider stands out as exceptionally agile and forward thinking. They operate at a pace we did not find elsewhere, which allowed us to quickly align. It is far easier to execute strong ideas when you share the same fundamental philosophy, he says.
Et enda tydeligere konsept for småbedrifter
– Aider aims to be the competence house for the entire Norwegian business community. SMEs are a customer segment we are excited to develop an even clearer offering for, and we now have the ideal foundation to do so. We will combine our resources and, together, develop the industry’s best services for small businesses. Our goal is to make it easier to run a small business. This will be a key strategic focus for us, says Lars Bratberg, Partner at Aider.
The Fryd team is already integrated into Aider’s offices in both Oslo and Porsgrunn.
